What does OrgBearings actually do?
OrgBearings is a live map of who does what in your organisation. You record people, their real remits (not just job titles), departments, projects and blockers — plus working patterns, leave and delegates — so you always know who to ask, whether they're in, and who covers them.
Is there a free plan?
Yes — Free includes 25 people, 5 departments and 2 projects, forever, no card required. The Lifetime directory (£29 one-off) removes the people and department caps on a personal workspace. Pro Navigator (£12/mo or £99/yr) unlocks availability, leave, blockers and external activities.
What happens to my data if I cancel?
Nothing is held hostage. Caps only apply to new rows, so a lapsed subscription keeps every record you mapped: you can read, delete and keep editing people and departments forever. Gated features simply go read-only until you re-subscribe.
Is it safe to store colleagues' details in OrgBearings?
Your map lives in a private workspace visible only to you or your team — nothing is public and no data is shared between workspaces. You can export everything (JSON and CSV) or permanently purge it from workspace settings at any time, on any plan including Free.
Do I need IT approval or an HR system to start?
No. OrgBearings is deliberately bottom-up: one person can map their working world in about ten minutes. There is no HRIS sync, no org-chart import and nothing to procure — you type in the people you actually work with.
What is a capacity collision?
When a blocker's deadline lands on a day its resolver is on leave, at an external event or off-shift, OrgBearings flags it and names their delegate — and it checks the delegate's availability too, so it never sends you to someone else who is away.
Can my whole team use one map?
Yes — Squad (£39/mo including 5 seats, then £7 per extra seat) gives your team a shared workspace with a day-one Orientation briefing for new joiners and an exportable handover pack for people rolling off.
How do I pay, and can I cancel?
Payments are handled by Stripe — all major cards. You can upgrade, downgrade or cancel from your account settings at any time, and you keep your data either way.
